Energy Efficiency Programs

Supporting Our Communities

DP&L and our employees have a long tradition of supporting the Miami Valley. The Dayton Power and Light Company Foundation reinvests in our communities and contributes to the overall quality of life. The DP&L Foundation and The Dayton Power & Light Company annually donate more than $2.4 million to organizations that enhance the quality of life, promote economic development and protect the environment for our customers.

Community Contributions

DP&L created a $6 million fund to energize growth in West Central Ohio. In partnership with our communities and local and regional economic development organizations, DP&L will invest in programs to market West Central Ohio to attract new investments to the region, retain existing businesses by enabling them to remain competitive in this location, and create jobs and a job-ready workforce.

Economic Development

Regional Investments

In total, DP&L has invested more than $5.2 billion in overall infrastructure in the Miami Valley, including significant investments in programs for the environment. We built the largest solar array in SW Ohio, and together with AES, built the first advanced energy storage facility in the state. By testing renewable energy sources, installing electric vehicle charging stations, and restoring natural prairie lands, we can make our region a cleaner, more environmentally-friendly place for us all.

Environmental Investments

Reliable Power

DP&L consistently exceeds reliability standards set by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. We are a member of the 13-state Regional Transmission Organization, PJM, that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity and manages the high-voltage electric grid. For safety and reliability, DP&L trims trees along 2,100 miles of overhead distribution power lines per year on average.
